Ismail DDUMBA heads the Legal Advisory and Consultancy Department, a versatile attorney who has been in legal practice since 2012 practicing in Uganda and Rwanda and during which time he has obtained vast experience in the corporate practice and legal advisory fields of law. Ismail DDUMBA brings to the law firm a wealth of experience in corporate practice and legal advisory with the capacity to handle complex and sophisticated legal issues, having interfaced with and provided legal advise to a number of high profile corporate and individual clients during his numerous years of practice. He possesses vast knowledge and experience in corporate and commercial law matters, arbitration, taxation law as well as labour law. He is also well versed with other areas of law such as intellectual property law, insurance, banking and insolvency law among others. He has represented various clients in arbitration matters before national and international arbitration institutions such as the International Chamber of Commerce Court of Arbitration (ICC), Association of Arbitrators (Southern Africa) NPC, Kigali International Arbitration Center (KIAC) among others. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from Makerere University School of Law in Uganda as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD). He also holds a Certificate in trademark examination from the US Patent and Trademark Office Global Intellectual Property Academy (USPTO), a YALI Network Certificate in Human Rights, a Certificate in International Arbitration from SOAS London and a Certificate for the Accelerated Route to Membership – International Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Nigeria Branch (CIArb-Nigeria)
